Research & Education coordinator (she/her)

Jordan Lentinello

Hons BA, G.Dip, M.A

I joined CCWS as the Research and Education Coordinator because of a personal drive rooted in my family’s paternal history with the child welfare system. Growing up, I saw how these systems can deeply affect families, especially Black families and communities. This connection, combined with my work in anti-Black racism, made CCWS feel like a place where I could make a difference by using both my personal insights and professional skills. For me, CCWS represents a chance to put my passion for social justice and equity into real action.

In my role here, I get to develop research and educational programs that advocate and support child welfare survivors. I get to work with people who are equally committed to creating safe(r), supportive spaces. I especially enjoy working on projects that explore how race and identity shape experiences in child welfare, which aligns with my research interests in challenging systemic racism and promoting anti-oppressive practices.

With a background in Political Science and Global Politics from McMaster and currently pursuing a PhD in Education at the University of Toronto, I bring both academic knowledge and hands-on experience. My work is also guided by Black Feminist theory, which helps me approach things with a lens focused on community.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about music, reading, and discussing social issues, politics, and community advocacy. My identity as a second-generation Jamaican-Bajan, Black Canadian woman really shapes my connection to CCWS, grounding my commitment to making this work meaningful and impactful for our community.

Let’s connect!

CCWS operates within a hybrid model without a fixed office; in-person program locations are shared as needed.
