Char Carbone
My name is Charlotte and I am a costume designer, community arts organizer, street dancer, and now a volunteer with CCWS. I found CCWS thanks to their panel discussion about adoption abolition as I craved more connection and understanding to deepen my adoptee consciousness. As an Asian “triple trans” (transracial + transnational + queer trans*) adoptee who is estranged from adoptive family and unknown to birth family, I am hungry to engage with my local community and shake the room together. As a creative freelancer and ballroom girl (as in voguing, not waltzing), I am dedicated to transforming my lived experiences and professional skills in support of abolishing family policing as we know it. I have come to accept the non-linear unglamorous process of growth. I want to be a lifelong cycle breaker, a system disruptor, so we all can be free. Everything I do, everything I am, is about planting seeds for better futures yet responding to present community needs. I can’t wait for this next chapter with CCWS and providing the support I wish I had as a youth.
Let’s connect!
CCWS operates within a hybrid model without a fixed office; in-person program locations are shared as needed.
